About

Who Are We?

We are a newly-forming group of Humanists, rationalists, non-believers, skeptics, agnostics, and atheists. We seek to build a local community to experience the community, ritual, celebration, and togetherness of faith—without any dogma, creed, or supernatural beliefs. We also seek to organize events where people of any or no faith come together to do good in Dallas County.

A Godless Congregation

Our godless congregation is a consciously designed community based on shared Humanist values. While the supernatural, dogmatic, and authoritarian nature of traditional religious congregations may be problematic, there is a lot of good to be preserved. Congregating regularly helps a community make and keep friends, align around shared values, teach and learn from each other, and experience profound emotions together.

We don’t yet have a permanent meeting place. Instead, we rely on the generosity of members and local businesses to allow us to congregate in their space. If you would like to know the location of our upcoming events, please call or text (417) 345-3888.

Good Works in Non-Mysterious Ways

Without divine intervention, the world must be improved through human action. That is why the Humanists of Dallas County have a strong focus not only on congregating for the good of our members, but also in service projects for the good of our local, state, national, and global communities.

If you would like to volunteer to help with our next service project, or if you have an idea for our next service project, please call or text (417) 345-3888.

Celebrating Life’s Milestones

Getting married, naming a child, and other important life milestones are best celebrated (and the loss of a loved one is best mourned) in the company of friends and neighbors. In an age where more and more people live their lives without belief in the supernatural, Humanist ceremonies offer a contemporary way of satisfying the timeless need to bring significance to life’s big changes.

Our congregation is in search of a trained Humanist Celebrant to serve as officiant, organizer, and master of ceremonies for these important rituals. If this describes you, or if you would like to become a trained Humanist Celebrant, please call or text (417) 345-3888.

What Is Humanism?

There are many definitions of Humanism, and even a Humanist manifesto, because Humanism is not led by a single individual. Instead, Humanism is a global movement that shares a name and a set of core values, under the banner of which many local, national, and international organizations have formed.
