A group informed by science, inspired by art, and motivated by compassion. We create space for ethical rationalists to gather, learn, and celebrate.

  1. Coffee & Donuts
In the fellowship hall before the main congregation, please enjoy the company of your friends and neighbors while drinking locally-roasted coffee and fresh donuts. If you’re new and you’d like to meet people, grab a yellow mug!
This event cannot be scheduled until we have a permanent public meeting place.
  2. Sunday Morning Congregation

Our primary weekly gathering for adults and teens includes: a weekly non-theistic seminar on ethics, morality, and current events; moments of reflection; music; community announcements; and more.

SEEK: Sunday Ethics Education for Kids

Our primary weekly gathering for young children and pre-teens. Here, the youth of our community learn to value the worth and dignity of every person, without needing a god or a creed to do so.

This event cannot be scheduled until we have a permanent public meeting place.
  3. Fellowship Potluck Luncheon
If you’d like to continue the celebration of community after our primary gathering, please participate in our optional weekly potluck! Water, lemonade, and iced tea will be provided.
This event cannot be scheduled until we have a permanent public meeting place.

  1. Service Board Weekly Meeting
Organizing group service projects takes extra effort from a dedicated committee, which we call our Service Board. We meet weekly, and anybody who is considering joining the Service Board is welcome to attend.
This event will be scheduled once the Service Board has been formed.

Tuesdays

  1. Arts & Crafts & Afternoon Coffee
You’re never too old for arts and crafts! Bring your paints, knitting, coloring books, crochet, sketchbook, spinning wheel, or any other arts and crafts, and be social while being creative. Plus, during the summer this is also great for the young ones to learn arts & crafts!
This event cannot be scheduled until we have a permanent public meeting place.

Wednesdays

  1. Ethical Book Club Weekly Meeting

While we don’t have scriptures or a creed, we are not the first to study ethics and morality absent the supernatural framework of gods and revelations. Every month, our weekly book club picks a new book about ethics, morality, philosophy, community service and action, or the humanist movement. Gathering weekly to discuss about a quarter of the book helps keep the momentum while breaking up the reading into manageable weekly chunks.

  1. Youth Engagement Night
For kids and teens, this is a night to come out and have fun with the friends you’ve met at other weekly events, from board games to sports to video games to just hanging out and chatting. For parents, if you’re not on the chaperone schedule this week it’s a great opportunity to have a quiet night at home, a date night around town, or just get some free time.
This event cannot be scheduled until we have a permanent public meeting place.

Saturdays

  1. Service Project
Roll up your sleeves and help your community in ways that let you get to know the people you’re helping. Help others in need without hoping for rewards. And do it together, with other members of the Humanists of Dallas County, because many hands makes light work.
This event will be scheduled once the Service Board has a reliably-full backlog of community service projects to fill a weekly schedule. Until then, service projects will be scheduled ad hoc.
  2. Game Night
Bring your favorite board game, or play one of ours. Play with your family in your home away from home, or mix it up and play with others in the community. From Monopoly and Risk to Settlers of Catan and Carcassone—or even some D&D—this is a great opportunity to have fun out of the house without spending a dime, while engaging in the life-affirming company of others.
This event cannot be scheduled until we have a permanent public meeting place.
